Is it correct that WhatsApp messaging uses encryption that cannot be read by WhatsApp or any 3rd party-but only by the sender and recipient?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Apples are for eating, not consuming, end off.

Much tastier 1 of your 5 a day than one of your every 30 day direct debits for 24 months ;)

They are entry to medium handsets marketed as premium. It still beggars belief we have official MSE cheapest iphone threads.

I will never use a iphone or Apple product again, junk, mutton dressed as lamb for the Jonses next door.

I love it when Apple is shown for what it is. The amount of money and revenues it has should be more secure than Blackberry products, but its not...so its priorities are itself, not you the consumer.

    I quite like them.

DD has just been given my 4s, her 4 has gone to replace the 3G used by DS, which is then going to SWMBO. The 4s was heavily used but not a mark on it. A new battery has increased standby time from 48 hours back to a week, and took four minutes to fit.

When you can amortise the capital cost over - in the case of the 3G - something like 6+ years by handing down through the family they're not so expensive. Or if you don't have a family to hand them down to, you can sell them on. There is a good second hand market.

But I digress, if the OP wants 'security', they'll be disappointed with the blackberry or a simple Nokia phone when the UK investigations mainstay is actually focussed on cell site analysis, and associated metadata, not hacking the GPS...

I gave my 3GS away free when 4 launched, junk.

All the crims use old Blackberries with the old BIS data because the content of BlackBerry Messenger messages is secure. They may prove you were somewhere, but they dont have the text in BBM messenger data like they can easily access in text or calls from your telco.

I have a Blackberry on Orange but my life is not exciting nor rich through illegals, its quite boring lol I just love my old school Blackberry with unlimited BIS data and UMA chip for wifi calling that is stable unlike software implemented wifi calling all the telcos have moved to.

One example: Sky broadband is terrible for handset wifi calling - unusable, use a UMA chipped old school Blackberry and its like you are using the mobile network.

As I say - my 3G is still in service, as is my 4, 4S, 5 and 6s.

So the movies are right? All crimos use Blackberries and PCs, whereas the good guys all use iPhones and Macs. Cool!

I doubt it's software per se - the CPU inside most of today's phones can handle hundreds of simultaneous phone calls without breaking a sweat. It'll be a (possibly deliberately) poorly implemented QoS vs Sky traffic shaping thing. You know - if you - buy your broadband from EE and your WiFi calling will suddenly improve. #surprise
