Dear all,
A friend checked his mail on my desktop with his Hotmail account, now it is preventing me from logging in without his password. I had a Windows 'log on' password, it appears it is no longer required just that e-mail password of my friend, I know I am able to change it but unfortunately I can't gt in touch with him for his 'pass word', does it make sense?
Any help most appreciated.

Checking... 1. Was the password you used to use a Windows password (associated with a Windows account) OR a local only password?
2. When your friend used your computer was it already running (and he just used Hotmail in a browser) or did he start the computer and put his hotmail name/password in?
EDIT: at the login screen (where your friends email address is) look at the bottom left of the screen - is your account there? Click it.If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
1- My window password was not related to any ms account,
2- Friend started the computer and put his password in hotmail account.

"now it is preventing me from logging in without his password"
logging into where?0 -
The sequence appears to have been:-
1. user had a local only password (for windows entry)
2. friend came along and started windows with his own Windows credentials
3. PC is now only accepting his friend's windows credentials
EDIT: I think you need your friends password (sorry stating the obvious) and then follow below to switch back to your local only account.

switch user , at start up
the OP has said its not their windows password , :
1- My window password was not related to any ms account,
2- Friend started the computer and put his password in hotmail account.
I can only think that Hotmail is trying to start up automatically , "X" we gone ,0 -
It is crazy though, Windows password should not be confused with any other, windows 10 seems to have a mind of its own.

Initially when you log in, windows password is required, after that he must have logged into Ms mail account, the question is how does that replace windows password without any one changing it.
