Why can't you understand that it's treating customers unfair if they don't give me the rate that they would normally give to people with that amount?

I don't demant the rate that other banks/services give. I demand the better rate that they would normally give for that amount. And they didn't even advised me to come on Monday to get a better rate. That is concealling of information and unfair treating. Financial institutions have very strict regulations for this. I expected in this forum to answer knowledgeable people, not trolls.

But they don't normally give that rate if its closed on Saturday. You still agreed to transfer the money rather than waiting til Monday.

I am afraid you don't understand the TCF rules work.

The bank did not conceal the information from you, that service was not available on the weekend.

Also, who is to say the rate you got on Monday would have been better than the rate you got on Saturday.. it could easily have been worse.

    Regards
    Sunil

And if they'd suggested waiting until Monday, or asked if you wanted to wait until Monday, and the rate had shifted unfavourably, you'd have been here asking "have I been ripped off?" They can't win!

No, they didn't. You said in your original post that the cashier told you that it was closed.

It's amazing that you agreed to the transaction if you knew all this. I presume you also know that you can complain with a bank if you feel you have been treated unfairly, and that you have already filed your complaint. Please let us know the outcome.

What if they did and the rate on Monday would be worse? Would you blame them again?
Up to 2% steep changes aren't uncommon while the 'improved' rate is unlikely to differ from a 'normal' one by more than 0.5%.

They offered you the rate they were able to offer ATM. Take it or leave it - as simple as that.

    P.S. When replying I haven't seen YB's post above.

You had the option to say "no thanks" and go back in on Monday.

The markets don't operate on the weekend, hence why those staff don't.

No he didn't. She tried to call, infront of me, she failed (nobody responded) and she just gave me the rate on the display.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Financial institutions operate under TCF terms of FCA, if you have any clue what is this.

(treat customers fair, financial conduct authority)

    :rotfl::rotfl:

I worked in banks and building societies for 38 years, I kinda know how it works.

You were treated fairly - this would have happened to any customer in your situation, going in on a Saturday. You weren't singled out.
