Need advice following incident

Hi,
This is the first time I've used a forum. But I Need a bit of advice on the following,
So the other morning I got in my car like I do every morning to come to work, we don't have a drive way and we have access to park outside the houses half on pavement half on the road. Our road is wider than average for this reason.
Now as every morning I check both ways before pulling off I drove forward towards the dip in the kerb an elderly gentleman swerves to avoid me (even though by this point I have already seen his speeding vehicle coming out of the turning a few 100 yards away and brought my vehicle to a holt which is still half on the pavement) so he has swerved across the road hit the kerb and landed on the house adjacent to mines front garden. I got out of my vehicle to make sure this gentleman is ok and he has began to shout at me and become very aggressive as a female in my early 20's i found this very threatening even after i had been very polite to this elderly gentleman. He has then began shouting at me demanding my insurance details. Which I then couldn't locate and got myself into a bit of a state of panic. Once I had calmed down and the gentleman left with my telephone number I gave my insurance a call explained what has happened and they ask if my vehicle has any damage which it doesn't. They asked me to take photos and send these over to them they confirmed there was not any damage and therefore because the gentleman has not hit my car he will not be able to claim off my insurance, as it would be an accident which I haven't been involved in.
Now the insurance company has clearly told the other driver this and he has now claimed I'm lying and that I was in the middle of the road. At which I must point out if I was I'd of performed an emergency stop where my belonging on my passenger seat would have flown off the seat. I took photos of where my car was after the incident. And Now the elderly driver has become threatening and is persistent with the fact that his car is damaged due to me attempting to pull off outside the house and is swearing blind I was in the middle of the road when my vehicle was stationary.
Now as I said my insurance has already stated that he cannot claim on my insurance. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this before? It also is very un-nerving as the gentleman knows where I live and has already been to our house kicking off, where do I stand on this?
Thanks

Leave it to your insurance.
They are technically wrong, you have been involved in an accident and if you are liable he would be able to claim.0 -
Between all the stereo types, old blokes young female blah blah.
The insurance is correct , your car was not involved in an accident, so there is no claim against you or your policy, the other driver should drive to the conditions and be hazard aware.0 -
...and if he does come back to your house and kick off again, call the police in. Harassment is illegal.0

It wasn't hit but it was involved.0 -
I understand where you are coming from with this. But I had stopped my vehicle and he decided to swerve without any need to of? I understand the whole he acted on what he thought was going to happen but as soon as I saw his vehicle come flying round the corner approx 300 yards away I then stopped my actions to allow him to pass?0

he seems to have backed off after my partner did threaten to call the police haven't heard from the guy since. Just a bit jumpy with my car being parked on the road ever time we hear anything going on outside we become curtain twitchers! :doh:0

Are you exaggerating? 500 yards is a long way away, don't know if I could tell something was speeding 500 yards away.0

I would log a report with the police anyway, just in case.
If he has been to your house harassing you and you have logged it with the police, should there be any follow ups - damage to your car etc in the night, you can call them in and you have your previous logged report as evidence of motive and harassment.0 -
I'm responsible (among many other things!) for the fleet insurance for our company. I tell you this because we have recently had a similar situation.
My advice is that you should contact your broker/insurer and complete a claim form with a really good description of what happened and a drawing showing where you were, where the other driver was, etc.
The other party has up to three years to file a claim and you should get the details to your broker as soon as you can, or you may forget details.
If he comes to your house again, you should indeed call the police as they will be able to issue a civil order of protection which will mean he must stay a certain distance from you.
Good luck. It's a bad situation to be in. A front facing camera may be of use in future?“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”
