Hi all
I am thinking about moving my broadband, phone and line rental from BT to Plusnet. I am currently with BT and the contract runs out on 17th November. I am unsure on how to make the switch without paying any more money than I have to. This includes paying both contracts at the same time, but also potentially being charged any exit fees from BT.
Any help on any of this would be most appreciated. I'm completely in the dark...
Many thanks

It usually takes 14 days to switch so if your minimum term ends with BT on the 17th November, place your order with PlusNet on the 4th November. This should mean that your switching date is the 18th November and you won't incur any termination fees.
Do not cancel with BT - let Plsunet handle the transfer.0 -
OP if you aren't going for cashback from Quidco, TCB or anyone else (as you'd need to use a link from their site to do this) you could try calling PlusNet and speaking with them.
Otherwise I think with most suppliers you can select the date you want to switch from or if you are sent a start date, can normally phone them to ask them to change it if you want.
They offer this for several reasons, e.g sometimes they may need you to be at home or your moving home or something so it can be done. I did this with BT when I switched from PlusNet not so long ago but also remember BT pulling the switch forward a day so be aware of this if you do select the date. However, you'd probably have a decent case to argue if they did change the date and mean you had to effectively pay twice so I wouldn't worry so much about this.0
