Hi Sourcrates
I just received this reply " We have requested documentation from the original creditor and once we receive their response we will contact you."
MBNA sold the debt to 1st credit in April 2006
MBNA took over Abbey CC in Jan 2001
So the credit agreement would be with Abbey ?
I am tempted to ring MBNA and see if they have a copy..
Also should I carry on with repayments through stepchange ,do you have any advise please?0 -

Hi,
No the original agreement would be with the original creditor, when debts are sold on, they don't bother with the nicities of paperwork, the OC retains it, either in paper form, or more recently they store it electronically.
I would refrain from ringing them, as the call handler will not know anything about the whereabouts of your credit agreement.
It's a case of wait and see what happens, you can stop paying whilst they comply, but stepchange may be reluctant for you to do this, I would hang fire, see what they come back to you with first.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi,
I would not be to quick off the mark, wait and see what they come back to you with first, it may take several weeks until you get a reply from them.

Them not having the CCA is good news, the lender does not like parting with them, usually because they have destroyed it as they hold no interests in the debt.
You might be about to reduce the balance to £0 shortly.
Looks like an old debt file they bought from quefax.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
Thank you both. What a waiting game this is...0

Hi sourcrates ,
I still not heard a thing, how long to do you think is reasonable time to wait? I have not had any correspondence with them since 24th November.
Many thanks in advance0
