Best value PAYG data sim with tethering?

Whats the best value large volume PAYG sim that allows tethering?

I'm currently with Giffgaff with 6GB 4G for £18 a month.

They have an "unlimited" option for £20 a month but after 6GB of use it throttles back to just 256KB.

I see theres a 100GB EE deal for two months, but i dont really want to chop and change every couple of months.

Thanks in advance

For the last 4-5 years I have been using a Three PAYG sim.

    For £20 a month I get 3000 texts, 300 min, and unlimited data ..

The way they meter tethering is by software on the phone, so if you just use the sim card in a Non-three phone then they have no idea if you are tethering or not ;)

Ok cool. I'll check that out.

My sim is in a separate 4g mini mifi device but i take it the principle would be the same.

    No mate ..

    PAYG

Buy the sim, top up 20 squid, then convert the money to an Add-on that gives you what I described .

I'm using a 3 SIM on a 30-day contract, £15 a month gets 10Gb of data. It's only for mobile broadband, so no calls or anything. I was using PAYG but this worked out cheaper and being a 30-day contract it's not so bad to get out of. Check coverage though - I've been getting rotten performance for the last few months because my local mast is over-subscribed due to new housing, and they're taking a long time to do anything about it.

I don't think this is still the case. I had a 3 PAYG sim with the add-on in my non 3 phone on holiday in France in September. When I turned on the phone hotspot to tether my tablet I had an immediate message that this was not allowed with the PAYG sim.
  • EE 4G £25 GB for £30 monthly on a rolling 30 day rolling contract. Not quite payg I know but close!

In that case, you put the sim in a phone that already had the "meter the teathering section" part of the custom OS activated.

Trust me, it works, I have been using it for years. Get a cheap PAYG android for this purpose :)
