Fitting mantle near flue pipe

Hi there,
Sorry if this has already been discussed but I couldn't see it on this forum. We have recently had a log burner installed in our home and had ensured that we could have a wooden mantle with it as it stated that the distance from the stove to a combustible material must exceed 800mm (which it does). What we failed to take into account is the flue pipe itself which is visible in our fireplace, having looked online the wooden mantle must be 3 x the diameter of the flue pipe away from it, meaning we can't attach it! (And we thought we'd been clever planning it all out before hand!!). Do any of you know of ways this can be overcome? I have been told somewhere that you can by a shield for your flue pipe or even a shield for the mantle piece itself?? Anybody know anything about these?
Any input would be greatly appreciated as the last thing we want is the mantle piece to go up in flames as our stove and the fluepipe get extremely hot!
Thanks in advance.

You can fit A1 rated fireboard to help reduce distances in some scenarios.
I've got it attached to the back of a wooden beam.
You can also use twinwall pipe and sometimes certain types of "shielding".
Some possible ways around it are here:

Have you not thought of a floating shelf?

No easy way to get round this sorry but 3x Stove pipe diameter or 1.5x diameter if metal heat sheild is fitted, sheild requires min 15mm air gap between sheild and combustibles.
I see many where this is not adhered too and most are scorched some have been smoking and one or two custys have been spraying them with water as they start to smoke/catch fire, whilst this is rather worrying it comfirms building regs.0 -
you can get a concrete beam which looks like wood, most I have to scratch to make sure they are concrete, not cheap mind.0
