AC. Good luck with the next batch of viewings.
I can appreciate that money is very tight but I'm sure you can make any necessary improvements without spending too much.
At least your EA cannot blame uncertainity over Brexit now......:rotfl: The results are definite and there's no ambiguity.
Time for your EA to get back to the business in hand and get your flat sold.......0 -
Just heard some encouraging news, regarding the housing market .
A chap in the company I work for (trading), has said that within a couple of weeks , the pound will be back to normal.
His wife is an e a . She said everything basically stopped because of this eu campaign, but thinks things will pick up within the next couple of weeks .
Fingers crossed0 -
Yes, good luck, AC and Anna. Thanks again, LL, for all your wisdom and generosity. If we ever move again, I will certainly be asking your advice.
Now that we have left Europe (surprised me) where do you think Britain should move to? I quite fancy anchoring ourselves to Denmark in summer and and Jersey in winter. We must all paddle together, and I'll keep the beat. What me, row? :rotfl:0 -
Well, I have a fondness for Scandinavian drama, and Nordic blondes , so Denmark is good0

Objectifying women, AC?!? (non-existent tongue-in-cheek icon) I used to be into blondes (male ones) but now find brown eyes more attractive. If you're gonna be blonde, at least don't make it obvious it ain't real.
Yes, I know it's aimed at teenagers, really but did you check out "Heartless"? Also "Tjockare an Vatten" (Thicker than Water) which is, at least, for adults I think? The BBC ones are a bit heavy for me; there are enough "gritty" police procedurals on there in English, for me. I prefer stuff with some humour in it, however dark.
That Ser (sic) Jaime is a bit of all right (played by wonderful Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau)0 -

Bloody hope so AC :T:T0 -
Well Last night I spotted that one of the properties on my watch list had finally had its price reduced to a more realistic level.. Nothing to do with not selling because Of Brexit, it's an overpriced dog.
Now that the owners have finally seen the light it might stand a chance of selling. It's a probate house and is not without potential but like most probate houses it needs gutting.
I might take a look. I wouldn't want to live in it long term but it might make a half decent project whilst I continue my search for a piece of land. It will depend on whether the figures stack up.
Re the "£ in your pocket"...... :rotfl: I'm pretty sure it's safe enough. Las night was for the speculators, I'm sure some traders will have made a killing.Traders love a bit of volatility in the market - that's when they make their quick profits. The markets will settle again and that includes the housing market.
In the 40 years since I first went to work in an EAs office (gawd I'm old) I have seen booms and busts, peaks and troughs. The thing to remember is we are a small island with a high population density, there will always be pressure on housing. So even when prices drop they always bounce back again.
Which country. We'll I'm half Belgian, my sister is married to a Kiwi, my son is married to a Venezuelan - our house is like the UN at times.
I have a soft spot for Chris Hemsworth (Australian) and Tom Hiddleston (English) but agree that "Jamie Lannister" is a looker. (Jon Snow is too "pouty" for me) - watched Kit Harrington in the new Spooks film last night - he was still "Jon Snow" .:rotfl:
I like my blokes to be witty and charming, not moody and brooding......
My late husband was a doppelgänger for Jack Nicholson, same charismatic devilish charm.
Have you noticed Leo De Caprio is turning into a middle aged Jack Nicolson.......:rotfl:
Blondes......well I'm now a "silver fox" a la Helen Mirren....0 -
And another viewing in the morning . I think it's while I'm at acupuncture . Somebody has just been .
Back to euro drama , spiral ( French ) is probably my face out of all of them . The last series was just a tad short compared to the others.
Now you've named your fave characters ' the blonde press reporter from borgen';) ( sorry to say it like that , but I can't remember her name ). Audrey fleurot from spiral ( ginger) and the blonde from the bridge
I've said too much0 -
Someone on another thread, also selling a flat in London, doesn't say where, also looking for £400k, has just had her buyer pull out, apparently. One respondent thinks London house prices will plummet worse than the rest of the country, but all will fall. LL's measured response seems more plausible to me but on vera, as they say in Fronglais.
To counter the brunettist comments, fave rave at the mo is not only not blonde, he's not white and not human, how's that for PC?You can't guess, can you? The beyond delectable Tyr Anasazi, who is witty, can be charming and is all over the moody, brooding part of life. Sing out, Christina, "He's a one stop shop, makes the panties drop..."

Have booked an appt to see the house I mentioned this evening.
It's a bungalow which needs work. I don't know the area terribly well but my friend knows it and says it's a nice bit of leafy surburbia so worth a look.
Non human squeezes.......the mind boggles.....:rotfl:
Yes......there does seem to be a lot of over-reacting and panic out there this morning.. It will all calm down soon enough.
now......
Back to the really important stuff......
I have lost another lb this week.
And .........I have just taken delivery of a stunning new evening dress, reduced from £350 to £49............Wahoo.
Losing weight and a new frock - what's not to like.0
