Thanks harz
Yes, I'd better mention that to the solicitor at some stage.
I would think that if there are parking spaces there already , nobody would or should park in front of the window .
I think with ground floor flats extra security is needed.
Lots to think about0 -
AC, one of the most vulnerable points of all is patio/French doors at the rear due to them being often away from prying eyes and having poor locking systems if on the older side.
You don't have that problem.0 -
Just been catching up after a few days in Prague and things are really moving on AC. Fingers crossed it all goes through well. How far from the wall are your windows? We have horizontal blinds and from the road it is hard to see much in the house.Aiming to make £7,500 online in 20220

Hope you enjoyed Prague karonher. Was there 20 years ago .
Time flies
There is a small distance from The wall to window . Shrubbery infront of window. Probably me over worrying , as the flat' son a fairly busy main road .0 -
AC if the new flat is just around the corner then can I suggest that you walk past at different times of the day and the night just to see what is going on around it. Perhaps very early in the morning (before people have driven to work if the cars parking is an issue) and around 6pm and again around 9pm ish at night.Debt free and Keeping on Track0

And go knock on the first floor flat and ask if there have been any problems (whilst assessing these people) or anything to be aware of.0 -
hope the gas engineer goes OK today AC0

Thanks all:)
Gasman this evening . I think a lot of my last few posts , have reflected the slight jitters which in reality , has to be expected.
Had my friend over on Sunday watching the rugby , and I didn't go on (..and on ..) surprisingly. Got reassurance tho'.
If the boiler stays where it is, then so be it . At the end of the day , it's only me there and everything is more or less adequate .
I have to make room for either a multi gym , or a cross trainer ,
some shelving and sofa bed etc. There is still a way to go though ,
as there is the legal process which should not be taken for granted.
I believe that the electrics are being sorted this coming weekend.
Cannnot believe tomorrow is march already .0 -
Okay, just been into the property again , with mr. Gas and ms. Estate agent . They both came to the conclusion , that mr. Surveyour was completely wrong in his boiler assessment .
The downside , is that I won't be able to open the window in that room.
Looked around again , and I do want the flat .
Assessing everything again , things that need doing before moving in:
Kitchen cabinets / worktop. Bathroom : walk in shower / new tiling
Whole flat repainted . Wardrobes / shelving / furniture. Would have to get curtains before all that .Change light fitting in living room .
Then when that's all done , the flat will be fantastic .
This of course , is subject to all the legal legalities .0 -
Hello, I have not often posted but, as I think you perhaps know, I have been following your journey with huge interest.
The things that need doing might well be things that could be done after you move in, unless you have a tenancy to serve out. If so, they could be done in the overlap time. But I tend to think it is sometimes good to take some time living in a place before you really settle on what you want to do and which things need doing first. For what it is worth I do really like the flat, looks so much nicer than a new one. I like conversions and I be only once lived in a modern house as an adult. I liked it well enough but it wasn't a patch on a place with a bit of character.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0
