Smoke Detector mandatory for sprinklered property?

Such nonsense.
Right, the ball's back in your court.
Either show us documented evidence that alarms are not required for properties fitted with sprinklers to meet the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm(England) Regulations 2015, which make it perfectly clear that they must be fitted and provide no exceptions - or man up and admit that you are wrong.0 -

I own a tenanted flat, which is sprinklered throughout.
Does anyone know if I also need a smoke alarm on every level?
Why would you not want to provide these anyway?
Don't you have smoke alarms in your own house?0 -

Could you show me where sprinklers are mentioned in the legislation?which make it perfectly clear that they must be fitted and provide no exceptions
It's scary that there is a part of the legislation called "Excluded Tenancies", and yet you make this unequivocal statement.
The advice in this thread is shocking.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

OK, IF it were a long lease then the property would be excluded. The advice in this thread is shocking.
Since you are obviously such an expert would it not be more useful to advise people properly with appropriate references instead of just making glib statements like this?
I, and I'm sure others, really would like to know.0 -

So the mention of sprinklers is irrelevant. Glad that's sorted out at last.OK, IF it were a long lease then the property would be excluded.
I can only imagine that you haven't read the section, as there are many exclusions. Yet not long ago you were adamant there were none.Since you are obviously such an expert
I thank you for the compliment, but I prefer "likes" as that is king on this forum.would it not be more useful to advise people properly with appropriate references instead of just making glib statements like this?
The OP has a tenanted flat, and wants to know whether it is mandatory for his sprinklered property to have a smoke alarm on every level.
I said that not enough information has been given.
Sadly, the OP has been given advice thinking it is correct and gone off not knowing that he should have been questioned further.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

which as I said is aQuick is no good when the advice is incorrect.
If you had genuinely wished to help the OP with his query you should have asked for the additional information required.critical but unhelpful responses.
Even your 2nd post "not enough information has been given." was designed to counter critisism of yourself, rather than provide a helpful answer for the OP.0 -
Thanks for the heartfelt apology, hopefully others will take your lead.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0
