Port Authorisation Code Issue

Hello,
At the beginning of this month, i cancelled my vodafone contract on the get-out clause in relation to the Vodafone Live! charges. I requested my PAC code from Vodafone on the 4th of August. It's the 23rd of August now and the PAC code has not turned up.
I rung Vodafone yesterday, and it turns out they have "lost" the PAC code.
I was assured that as soon as the PAC code went through, the Vodafone line would be cut off, and i would be charged up to the cut off point, so in short, the longer they're taking, the more of the month i'm being charged for.
I've taken out a new contract with Orange, and at the moment, it's not being used as i'm waiting for my number to be sorted out.
Is there anyway i can reclaim the charges back from Vodafone, seeing as it's their mistake? Or are they taking me for a ride because i've cancelled my contract early, in order to get more money from me?
Any advice at all on what i can do would be great!
Thanks in advance.

If they've admitted they lost it you should be able to get them to credit you the extra months line rental. Write a darn good letter of complaint
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -

Sorry Jadeyandcoke, I know that it's a bit off subject but I must have my head in the sand and missing something.
Can you go over the 'get out clause in relation to the Vodafone Live charges'.
Is this for a normal contract or do you have a data add on?

In the vodafone terms and conditions, in clause 7a or 8a (i can't remember) it states that if Vodafone make a change to data charges or tarriffs during your contract, and your bill goes up by 10% (£3.50 in my case) then you are within your rights to cancel the contract, with no strings attached, no cancellation fee, etc. There's a more detailed thread about 20/30 pages back with regards to this. (I'll find the link in a minute)
I got a £12 charge for using Vodafone Live when i didn't know they had started charging for it.
Mine is a normal contract.
So i rung Vodafone up, and explained the situation and they said i was perfectly within my rights to cancel, and let me do so. No cancellation fee, no lump sum, totally free.0 -

/\ that's the link for the thread about the vodafone live charges.
this \/ is the clause in question, taken from Vodafone's T & C's:
Following Vodafones notification of their new data pricing and vodafone live terms it seems there are grounds for cancellation under their T&Cs without penalty.
The relevant section of their T&Cs are:
a) You may end this Agreement immediately by writing to us if:-
we do not do what we have to do under this Agreement and do not put it right within 7 days of being asked in writing to do so;
all of the Services are permanently no longer available to you;
we increase the monthly (or other periodic line rental charge under clause 7a) and such increase (calculated as a percentage) is more than the increase in the Retail Prices Index Figure ("RPI", also calculated as a percentage) for the period from the month of the last increase (if any) to the month before we send the notice of the change in tariffs and you write to us before the increase takes effect. If we increase the monthly (or other periodic) line rental charge by more than the increase in the RPI we will tell you; or during the Term we increase in the United Kingdom and under clause 7a, call or other usage charges which have the effect of increasing your call or other usage charges by more than 10% or the increase in RPI calculated as in 8a above (which ever is the greater) based upon your previous call or usage pattern;0 -
Cheers jadeyandcoke,
I will certainly look into this, I've had no notification from Vodafone. Then
again they are not going to shout it from the roof tops are they!
Thanx...........0 -

Sorry to hear about that. From my experience (working at Vodafone) the PAC, once generated, is logged on the account notes, unless they were talking about it going missing in the post? To try and help, you could always drop us over an email by going to the following link. Vodafone do have a team who can look into this for you - You'd just need to include the relevant details, a description of the problem (maybe even a link to this thread) and the code FIT135. This way someone who can help will be able to pick this up. Hopefully you'll then be able to get this sorted.0 -

Vodafone were emailing the PAC codes, and they've lost them in their system
I've got my PAC code now so problem solved, but i've still got to wait until the 31st for the numbers to switch and the line to cut off, so that's another 7 days Vodafone are charging me for. I will be certainly taking this further.0 -
