Woodgreen could be getting it's own cross rail 2 station

£18 a night for a room - about the same price as the travelodges in motorway services. I'd rather stay in the services.0

That is not true Trev, no one who lives in London is allowed to be buried in Wood Green cemetery, it is reserved for others.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
I do enjoy this thread.
No matter how high house prices will rise some areas will always be dumps!
Nearly 40% of Haringey residents survive on benefits (yes including working age benefits like HB) - and if you strip out the posh west of the borough its probably a majority in Wood Green and Tottenham. Just hope the Government never stops paying up - as 2011 could be nothing in comparison to what might occur.0 -

I really am not sure that's correct. If housing stock is nice and transport links are good, then any area can gentrify over time and become "not a dump".
I don't know much about London areas other than the SW, but I have seen for example how Earlsfield has gone from a relatively low brow, nothing special area, to pretty much unaffordable to anyone buy up-steppers now. I used to think Balham was a dump having passed through there 10 or so years ago. Tooting definitely was and now suddenly bars are opening up, prices are stupid. A friend lives there who bought 4 or 5 years ago and can't believe what his house is now worth, he wouldn't be able to afford it.
I know nothing about Wood Green though but it does seem to back on to some decent areas, transport links seem good, and some of the houses look nice enough.0 -

You've got no idea of the changing nature of London. Places change all the time, here's Wood Green in its hayday ...

If you saw Dalston 15 years ago you wouldn't believe the changes. Finsbury Park in just three years has seen remarkable changes. Things change, the trick is to chose the place that's got the best chances of big changes. Wood Green is certainly one of them.Proudly voted remain. Funny you Should say that. Travel lodge will be opening a 78 room hotel in wooders. They've outlined woodgreen as being one of three key areas for new investment.
