Hi everyone,
My problem is that i could really do with reducing my gas and water bills
at the moment i pay per month £70 thames water and £65 npower my electricity is on a key meter as it was already there when i moved in which does kinda suit me as it's one less bill i can just keep it topped up.
My house is rather big, 3 1/2 storeys and 6 bedrms 5 kids me and hubby.
i live in a very wealthy street in sw london and wonder if the utility companies play on this, most people round here have more money than sense.
My house is very well insulated has double glazing, walls are lined with insulated plaster board has loft insulation etc
any suggestions greatly received
have thought about using water meter but really scared it might cost me more every month

You have nothing to lose by getting a water meter.
If you find it is giving no savings you have a year to revert back to the old charging system based on the Rateable Value.
The probability is that a water meter will be cheaper.
Key meters might suit you, but there are much cheaper tariffs available with a normal credit account - particularly an on-line account.0 -
we used to have a metre and found it very expensive, also I still used to end up gettinga bill on top, something which I could never quite understand given the idea of having the metre was not to get a bill. We moved into a house that didn't have a metre and now pay our electric and gas by DD £20 each per month I find it works really well and we are usually in credit.0
