Samsung GT18160 Texting Problem
My sister sent me a text on Sunday with her new phone number, I saved this to my phone and replied to her with a text but it failed. I double, triple and quadruple checked the number but it still failed. I sent a text to her daughter to see if she could use the new number to call her Mum, she can and all is well there! I called in the EE shop today and they looked at my phone, re-input her number but it still failed, they decided her phone is blocking me. I asked my sister this and she tells me her phone isn't set to block anyone.
I'm not having problems texting or calling anyone else and neither is she. She can text and call me but I can't reply!
Has anyone got any idea what I can do please?

Can anyone else text her, as opposed to calling her? Can you neither call nor text her? Or just text?
What respective networks are you on?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi Macman and thanks for your reply. For some reason I didn't think of ringing her - we normally only text! Just tried to ring and it rang out but went to answer phone so I assume I can ring the number!
My network is EE and her voicemail said Vodaphone.
As far as we are aware no-one else is having any trouble either calling or texting - just me!
Just a thought, when I first got the number it started 0044 but I dropped that and put it in my phone as 07 **** etc - could that be anything to do with it?0 -
It does sound like your number is blocked by your sister get her to double check her phone
I have had this issue in the past.Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0 -
I thought this might be a porting issue, but since you said you rang her 'new number', I'm assuming she did not port this number in from her old network? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thanks macman and GT60 for your thoughts. I have now called my sister and she has called me so no problems with the number for that but still unable to text! She has checked again and I'm not blocked - no-one is blocked apparently.
I'm going to try another phone shop when I'm next in town.0 -
My money is still on your number being blocked but you could ask on here http://samsunggalaxysforums.comSpending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0
