Opened paypal claim which says I have to return item to seller

When ebay was linked to paypal it was almost impossible to open a paypal dispute- every page tried to direct you back to ebay and you had to be quite firm to stick with opening a case in paypal.     Many new posters never come back to update threads so we won't know what happened here or why they deliberately choose to ignore ebay and go straight to paypal. Although looking at the OP they don't actually say they bought this on ebay- so it could be that paypal was used on a different site.

    The last one I had, earlier this year, ebay directed me to paypal.
