BT Contract Buyout Offer

I recently called BT up for BT Sports and they persuaded me to move across from Sky to BT. They dealt with Sky and as I have 3 months left on my contract offered to credit the amount of my cancellation onto my BT bill.
They said the limit was £150 but I basically had to pay the charges with Sky, email it to BT and they credited the same to my bill so my first few months were free.
I believe it's only available if you call up, not seen anything about it online.
Might help if you're a talktalk customer wanting to change.
