Afternoon.
The day has turned out to be windy and sunny so I've risked a load of whites in the washing machine and they are dancing around outside on the whirly-gig. Hope they stay on!
Delivery came, almost on time, and the bottles stashed away in the steading. Wine was the final item on my winter prep list.
I've taken the bit between my teeth and booked for the bus down to Glasgow and back for my visit to the Birmingham area in two weeks time. I'd normally drive down but decided to take the bus - I've got my 'old biddy' card so it only costs me £0.50p for the return trip. The bus company don't like people just turning up and not paying anything so the extremely small charge is worth it. The standard fare is £15.40.
The electrician turned up, only three or four weeks late, to price up the job I want done. He's really good but also really busy. The job is not urgent. Whilst he was here he fixed up the falling down lights under the kitchen cupboards, rubbish fittings from the kitchen company so we've resorted to masking tape.
The weather is not as cold as yesterday so no heating or fire on.
It's been a good day so far - hope others have had the same.
BTW - Elona, I was reading about you kitting out your house with remote controls for the electrical sockets and bought a set of four. Thanks for the tip, they are great upstairs. :T0 -
Afternoon (((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))) if you need one. Late posting today, OH had an early appointment with the Dr, he has phlebitis in his right leg, its not bad, but he has medication.
I nipped to a couple of shops and then to Morrison for a very small top up.
It was very misty this morning, but it has cleared now. the sun is trying to get through.
Off to get my hair cut this afternoon, have decided to treat myself to a cut and blow dry, it always cuts better wet. Think I am going to go quite short again. fed up with long hair blowing over my face. Giving the village hairdresser a try for a change.0 -
It has turned out lovely here today so I have done another two loads of washing.
Got to go to town when DH gets home because DD's BF bought a WiiU from Argos and it only has a European plug on it. What is the point of selling it in this country then?
Hester sorry to hear that you couldn't get things sorted yesterday, how frustratingAs for your BIL, he needs cutting down to size. How dare he not include everyone in such an important decision :mad:Sounds to me as if he just wants all the money from the will.
I liked the fact that the consultant shut him down quickly.
MIL and FIL have named all three children on POA and everyone has to agree unanimously on all decisions.
Here's hoping that you get some sort of resolution on Thursday x
DH just pulled up on the drive, so I had better get the kettle on.

The celebrity I referred to earlier is a footballer - Paul Robinson ex goalie for Leeds and Tottenham and was also in England squad too I think. Only DD's bf recognised him but he was quite happy to have his photo taken with various children (who hadn't a clue who he was anyway!!)
Oh dear I got a bit carried away in the TU 25% off event! I got the little people's Xmas gifts ok but was tempted by a pair of trousers, a top and a coat for myself!! The trousers (once shortened) and top are a good fit but I'm not sure about the coat now! I'll ponder on it and take it back at the weekend if I'm still unsure about it. It has a big 'fur' collar and that's what I'm not sure about. Being short I feel the collar swamps me!
Have a good rest of the day all. We don't know where we are with the weather do we! It feels really mild today, xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
I've just potted up a load of HM mincemeat; just need to make some labels for the jars now, and I have a "lemming cake" in the oven as I type.
Really need to set to and make the Yule puds; I generally make four, as we eat them throughout the winter. May make this a Samhain activity, so that Mr LW can have a go at stirring them.
Judi I wouldn't worry too much about the layer of dog hair - it os, after all, "clean dirt". Having said that, I vacuumed up three cylinders-full of Patch hair on Saturday afternoon!:D Hopefully Harriet won't be a super-shedder.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Started off dry here, then it started raining while I was entirely absorbed in something complex so washing got wet.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Yes and it adds to the insulation of the house.... I'm not going to fret over it. Tomorrow is a new day.
Went out this afternoon. Didnt know where i was going or what i was going to do but i needed my own space and i was clearly not going to get it with hubby mithering me about one thing or another. When i came home he was just like i had left him, fast asleep.
Popped into see Mom on my way back. Didnt stay for long though. She is well but on antibiotics. Apparently she is being treated for bed sores too. I took her the trousers i bought her for her birthday. She's too far 'gone' to appreciate them but at least i know she will look good in them.
Hubby is going to work tomorrow. He's asked me to cook him and 'Youngest' a meal for tomorrow night. The pork is being roasted as i type.
I'm still struggling with tiredness. Had another sleep when i came home before i started tea. Damn this tiredness, i wish it would 'do one'.

Hi guys,
Sorry I haven't been on recently. I went back to see my consultant last week and it turns out that the cancer hasn't come back, and I don't have any new tumours. Only the ones that I had last year and they haven't got any bigger!😀😀
He thinks the problem is with my medication so he has reduced it.
So basically I am now living with cancer not dying of it.
So life is good at the moment. I am aiming for Christmas now, then for my son 's wedding reception in March.
Thanks to everyone for all your support xI Believe in saving money!!!:T
