BT Retentions - how far can I go?

My contract has expired with BT and I called up today to try and get a better deal.
I currently have BT Infinity 1, evening and weekend calls plus BT Sport HD (on SKY) at just over £60.
I was offered £39.50 to renew. As I was hoping for something closer to £30 I asked if they could throw in a £125 Sainsburys voucher as advertised online for new customers but was told this would not be possible.
What can I expect to happen if I tell the agent that I wish to cancel my contract? Would I be passed to a retentions department who would be more likely to offer me a better deal or would the begin processing the cancellation of the contract?
I used to work at Carphone Warehouse and when I called up networks to cancel contracts on behalf of customers I would be passed to a front line team member who would offer bog standard deals to keep the customer before passing through to retentions who would then offer much better deals.
Can I expect a similar process with BT? Does anyone have any first hand exerience with this and tips I should use and what sort of deals they would offer me such as the £125 Sainsburys voucher for "online" customers only.
Thanks
Chris

I got as a retention, not sure how it compares but,
infinity 1
evening and weekend calls
entertainment package
bt sport, and bt europe
£21.67/month for 1 year.
I was paying about £34/month before I renewed.0 -
Your contract has not expired. Your minimum term has.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

That's brilliant! Did you say you were going to cancel to agents offering you standard deals and then they passed you through to a different team that offered you that price?0

No mention of Line Rental here .0 -
With BT it depends which department you get through to, if it's the Sales team they can typically only offer full price packages, the retention teams have the discounts. Even then, no one over the phone can offer Sainsburys vouchers.0
