BT line rental

Several years ago we were told by BT that we needed to pay them line rental despite having phone and broadband with our sky package. I've recently found out that we didn't need to be paying this. Should we be able to claim our money back?

Presumably you didn't transfer your number from BT to Sky?
So what did Sky do - did they install another telephone line? Do you have two telephone lines in the house? or do you just have Sky Talk but your line rental is with BT?I've recently found out that we didn't need to be paying this. Should we be able to claim our money back?
Need a bit more information on what you actually have with Sky first of all.0 -
There are 3 components here: line rental, phone tarriff, and broadband. You need all 3, regardless of who provides which.
However bundling all 3 together on an LLU service will be cheaper. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
If you don't pay Sky line rental then you would be liable to pay some company for it. Then you would be paying BT.
Otherwise you wouldn't be able to have broadband.
What makes you think you didn't need to pay for it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
