Hi everyone - we'll be here all day, working to get back to any questions as soon as possible.
To respond to your questions Andrea:
Re the used car - from 1st October traders must let consumers know if they are part of an Alternative Dispute Resolution scheme and provide full details of the scheme.
Re the walking boots - the new act says goods should be satisfactory. This is defined as the standard that a reasonable person would expect including the description given, price paid, age or history of the item.Official Organisation Representative

Our TV is 6 weeks old and now has a distorted picture. I'm confused as I'm expecting the telly to be fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time, which 6 weeks isn't. But I've read that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 we are no longer entitled to a full refund after 30 days and have lost the short-term right to reject the goods. The company we have bought the TV from have offered to repair the television but I'm not happy as I don't think it was fit for purpose when we bought it. Am I being unreasonable in my expectations or should I continue to be patient, polite and persistent?!0

Thanks CitizensAdvice - we look forward to your responses.
@Quentin - this thread is for questions for CitizensAdvice to provide responses. Whilst your quest to assist is laudable, please allow CitizensAdvice to provide the their view without distraction.0 -
Any distraction here is down to you!
I see from your sig you know exactly the answer to your question (which is irrelevant to the thread topic anyway!)0 -
Instead of waiting for the CAB to come back here try reading the newbies faq in the dedicated forum for parking fines and tickets.
You will see you have nothing to worry about

.
Now you have given away the answer to how CAB should answer. It's a bit like a teacher giving out homework and then providing a book with the answers in.
Like bod and C-M, I would like to know the answer CAB would give without being prompted.
I note that the two later questions have been answered by CitizensAdvice, but not the two earlier questions about parking.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Citizens Advice answered the MSE questions as it had the replies prepared for the Twitter Q&A. It'll be along to answer the questions it can answer in a bit

Hi, already on this board we've had people having trouble with the short term right to reject from the new consumer rights act.
Is the new short term right to reject a sort of replacement for the period of acceptance from Sale of Goods Act? Meaning if goods are faulty within that time, the consumer can insist on a refund rather than a repair or replacement?
Also, we had someone who ordered a corner sofa & matching footstool. The corner sofa was damaged/faulty on delivery but the company were refusing to refund both. I was of the opinion that the contracts wouldn't be divisible as the contract for the footstool wouldn't have been entered into if the contract for the corner sofa had not been entered into and also because the contract would be rescinded as opposed to a repudiation, but having an answer from yourself would help clarify things.
Companies can be stubborn. What advice would you give for those who are dealing with a particularly stubborn company and where small claims may not be a feasible option given the amount involved?
Are we ever going to see any obligations placed on retailers to ensure they comply with the law (the same obligations placed on any member of the public, any driver, person selling alcohol etc)? Especially given that they have likely been profiting financially from them neglecting to adhere to consumer rights (ie next, debenhams etc not refunding delivery charge under DSRs).You keep using that word.
