Anyone using https://www.ontrees.com which is by MoneySupermarket or https://www.moneydashboard.com ?
Some banks on twitter such as nationwide, natwest & halifax do not recommend using aggregation services, whilst not ideal I also believe entering your full data is very risky. Considering these services ask for full login details instead of say 1st and 4th letter of your pw etc.0 -
I'd never use an aggregator provided by any comparison site, so that discards ontrees. The risk that the aggregator will use your data to build a profile about you and then potentially bombard you with marketing bumph obviously exists with all of them, but I think it's larger with a company that exists purely for the purpose of making money from referring you.
I have tried MoneyDashboard and found it painfully slow and lacking functionality / support to all the banks I am using. It also didn't offer me any way to migrate my existing MS Money data. Admittedly, that was some time ago and they may have caught up by now.0 -
I would personally avoid any aggregation site or provider altogether especially based on free services it will be used to gather data about you.
I'm personally using YNAB and import statements weekly/bi-weekly and take say 30mins of my weekend to make sure everything is up to date0 -

I give very little to what their Twitter folks are saying as I have often found that they are pretty much clueless. They have probably been given a safe party line to avoid them getting bogged down in detail that they'd be unable to handle.
I also don't see the risk of entering your full data in accountunity as the data is encrypted on your PC / USB stick. Even if someone actually managed 1) to log into your aggregator and/or 2) to hack the encryption (extremely unlikely), all they could do is log into your accounts. They could then clean out your accounts by sending money to your existing payees but they couldn't set up a new ones and therefore they could not send any money to themselves. Whilst it is not totally impossible that an insane hacker would be interested in your accounts without being able to enrich themselves, it's a most unlikely scenario.
It goes without saying that you need to keep your aggregator login data as secret as you keep the login data for your bank accounts.0 -

YNAB is no good for people who have 20-odd current accounts, a bunch of credit cards and some investment accounts. It's also pretty much useless for anyone who has existing MS Money data that they want to preserve. It may be ok for people who start out new and who have just a handful of accounts, and no investments.0 -
Hello, can someone help please... Where is money manager, I want to use it however I can't seem to find the link anywhere on YBS website. I have a YBS account, and I can't see any links in there either.0

Why not just use accountunity ( see post #3)?
But if you insist on YBS MM: You should be seeing something about "External accounts" on your main account page. Mine hasn't been working for months. I haven't bothered trying to find out what's wrong.0 -
Just spoken with their team, it's down! I will try your suggestion

Is anyone else having a problem with Money Manager at the moment? Mine isn't displaying at all. Wondering if it's a general problem before I contact YBS. Thanks.
Editing to say I've found this on their help section:
"The issue with viewing your accounts is due to the browser you are using having been updated and appearing to be incompatible with the Money Manager service. This has issue has been raised with our provider and an investigation is ongoing. Reregistering using the same browser will not resolve the problem; if possible please revert to using an older version of the browser.
Due to the above issue we are no longer accepting new registrations for the Money Manager service."
I'm using IE11 but not sure when that was updated as it was done automatically. I usually check MM every day though! I'll have a look at Accountunity in the meantime, thank you for the link Archi Bald.0 -
I have been onto YBS about this and they are not sure what the problem is yet, so I have moved over to FIRST DIRECT INTERNET BANKING PLUS, that is fine for all types of accounts0
