So how did you buy it? Online, on the phone, or in-store? Your return rights are fundamentally different (lesser on non-existent) in the latter case. Where does this 14 day urban myth come from-there is no automatic right to return anything bought in store. It depends on the retailer's own returns policy.

And, contrarily, if the price had increased in that period - would you be rushing down there to give the extra?

You were happy to buy at the price you paid.

Always get one don't you!! What a ridiculous thing to comment with. I asked for advice on whether I had any rights with the situation not a snotty comment. Such a shame there's always a CONTRARY comment!!!!

I think the point was that zax47 was using sarcasm to point out the absurdity of your belief that a retrospective price reduction after purchase somehow entitles you to recover the difference.
If you purchased in store then your right to cancel is limited to the store's own returns policy. And that will have nothing to do with a price reduction after the event.

Without meaning to sound nasty.....the easy answer to this is tough luck.

Unless the good are faulty on arrival (to which the company can just replace like for like) I as a simple man would say there is no come back. You wouldn't buy a dress from Next and complain that a week later it's in the sales at £10 off. The only reason why I can see you want to complain is that you've just lost £300. I would be annoyed, some sales reps will inform you of when a sale starts/ends, but I am not sure what their legal obligation is.

When buying from such retailers who always seem to have a sale at some point during the year, then its always a good question to ask, "when is the next sale" and "do you know if this will be in it". If the sale is a week or two away then maybe delay your purchase. Just by suggesting you will wait they may reduce the price there and then.

Sorry to say this and I hope I don't offend anyone.

Well as you still haven't bothered to answer the key question, asked several times already, whether you bought in-store or not, it's hardly surprising that a degree of frustration has crept into the responses.
