Strange as it might sound I want to know they will put every tenants bond in a security deposit scheme. I don't want anyone dealing with what I have this past week.. I appreciate people don't think it's worth me doing but I want to, and am hoping someone has experience of doing it?0

But you're not going to know that, your case has no effect on what they may or may not do with other tenants. Can't you see that you've got this all out of perspective, from your handling of the initial withheld deposit to your intent to sue? The way you're talking you'd have thought the issue went on for months, not two days!0 -
if you do go ahead with this I would be interested to know how it goes and the outcome. Part of me wishes I had sued a landlord a couple of years ago (I'm in Scotland so I've run out of time) as she was an absolute cow. It would have nice hitting it where it hurts...in her pocket. Would it have been worth it though I really don't know.0

The landlord had 4 years to protect my deposit but they chose not to. I accepted a bond minus £100 out of good will. If they had treated me in a fair way, I wouldn't be contemplating suing..0

I have had plenty of experiences of landlords playing god with bonds, I am ashamed I just accepted my bond was in a security scheme because my tenants agreement said so. I will see how I feel in a week!0

I thought you got the full bond back????Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

Initially we accepted cheque for bond minus £100. But landlord stopped cheque before it cleared. She then said she would be making deductions. Only after I have asked who my bond has been with and details, 24hrs later it was in my account. I know I'm lucky she has paid it, I am probably being over emotional about it all.0

I understand where you are coming from OP. The deposit is YOUR money and it shouldn't be so difficult to get it back at the end of the tenancy. I think deposit protection has been mandatory in England and Wales since 2007 so there's no excuse for landlords not to know about it in 2015.
The whole point of the schemes is to make it easier for tenants to get their money back without clogging up the courts wrangling with landlords.0 -

Getting a judgement against the landlord doesn't necessarily mean you will get paid.
Supposing the LL asks for time to pay... then doesn't?
You'll be ill again.
Just move on and forget it. you've got your money back, my advice is to stop trying to make a profit too.0
