Can anyone tell me the best way to close this card when I get back?

Customer service is appalling and I won't be using it again after this trip but how do I close it? Is it best to make sure it's at a zero balance at the end of the holiday?

I know they charge after 12 months if there's been no activity but you must be able to cancel the card if there is no balance?

Just withdraw/spend to as close to zero as possible and bin it, before it costs you anything more.
