Fibre deal nearing end of contract

:cool:Hi we are currently reaching the end of a 18 month deal (contract finishes 31st October) with talk talk where we were on the essentials TV, broadband and calls package plus medium fibre for which we pay £10 for simply broadband and TV, £17.70 line rental and £5 for the fibre. Have had an email from them with a renewal offer of 25% off the simply broadband if I sign for another 18months. Phoned up to see if I could get a better deal all they offered me was £28.95 for the same package for 12 months then £32.70 for the remaining 6 months equivalent to £30.20 a month for 18 months. Not a great deal especially when they were offering new customers a deal with fibre for £5, the simply broadband for free and line rental for £17.70 plus £100 love to shop voucher equivalent to £17.14 a month for the 18 months. Once we go onto the month by month rolling contract I'm expecting my bills to increase by £5 as the deal I had on the fibre will have run out.
We only really want the fibre broadband as don't use the land line and we now own the YouTube box so the TV part of the deal is no longer needed. Have looked around for other deals but most providers say they can't do fibre to our address/phone number SSE seem to be the best price at £22.33 for unlimited fibre but when I contact them they seem unsure if they can provide the fibre service. One guy I spoke to said they could another said they couldn't I guess it's due to the LLU line talk talk have us on. Also concerned about length of time we would be without broadband for if we could switch.
So need advice about what to do will talk talk be more willing to offer me a better deal to stay once I'm out of contract or to keep me as a customer after the hacking scandal? Are there any other providers that are offering a better deal with an easier switch over period?
Sorry for the ridiculously long post.

Your contract will not actually end but move to a rolling 30 day contract 30 days notice required ..
Line rental is a requirement if you want a service over the landline .
Fibre BT Plusnet Sky why not price them up as a new customer .0 -
BT and plus net say they are both unable to supply fibre to my address and sky's best deal for unlimited BB fibre not much better than talk talk plus involves hassle of moving.0

Every provider will have more or less the same process for switching.
If you don't want the hassle of moving (not sure it really is hassle though but that's just my view), then the only choice you have it to stay with TalkTalk with whatever deal they offer.0 -
You wont be without any service phone or BB when switching as one turns off, the other should turn on as its an engineer unplugging one and plugging it back in ( in theory )
Im with SSE and although its great speed, (57mb on BTWholesale, but only 1mb on testmynet ) I can no longer watch youtube on my pc in HD even on 720!
Who ever you go with ALWAYS pay your line rental 12 months in advance its a LOT cheaper.
AND ALWAYS go through a cashback site, I got £130 from Quidco for signing up online with SSE. BT rejected £140 Cashback when I signed up with them about 20 months ago.0 -

The wholesale charge for the line is bundled into the "line rental" that goes with the voice telephony service. Some time ago OFCOM said they were looking at splitting it so it could go to a broadband only line rental with no voice service, but I haven't heard if they've made a decision on that. If they do, the price saving would be minimal. It would potentially cause problems if an Openreach technician needed another pair and saw one was connected in the cabinet, but had no dial tone so assumed it was not in use and "borrowed" it, thereby disconnecting the broadband.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
I have just moved to SSE from BT. Your contract will start from the day you say yes on the phone or using web. So be careful as the 14 days cooling off starts from that day and they will probably take 14 days to move the service over to you. You will then realize that Fiber is actually traffic managed and my service drops throughout the day by 95%. Twitchy videos, Facebook not opening pictures etc. Now I am trying to leave and they want more than £200 for this privilege. So draw your own conclusion.0

Something wrong with your setup .
I have BT fibre and it stays rock solid throughout the day .0
