  • So what sort of discount was you hoping for buying 70 £10 vouchers?

This is what terms and conditions are for, i generally have a scan if i am making a relatively large purchase.

Keep us updated to see if you are able to cancel with your bank. It will be interesting to see if that is possible.

I would agree with you when you say they could just void the codes, they are probably all computer generated. I guess whoever it is you were dealing with couldn't be arsed to get involved with that or they have a policy to fob people off so that they can make even more money.

Buy a moto g, only 139 quid and wicked ;)

Buying these through the site entitled me to 7% discount so i paid £651

Will definitely Keep you informed on the outcome

Depends if the terms really were misleading. The suggestion of a chargeback is a good one, if only to concentrate the minds of those refusing to cancel the vouchers 'because they've been viewed' (an excuse which makes no sense at all). Cancellation is normally done electronically if a batch of vouchers needs to be pulled, so the effort involved is minimal.

The other route worth considering is having a word with whoever deals with the scheme on behalf of your employer (normally someone in HR). Even if you have made a daft mistake (and we all do that from time to time!), your employer isn't likely to be thrilled with such an unhelpful attitude from the 'reward' company. You won't know unless you ask... By the way, who are they - the voucher company, not your employer.

The site that operates these on behalf of the company i work for (Travis Perkins) is know as the TP Rewards Gateway. In the T&C it does actually say that they would accept the vouchers back, as long as they werent viewed. The problem is, when the sale completed, a screen with a msg popped up which said "view your vouchers now", so only naturally i clicked the link to make sure what i paid for was apple vouchers, and this is what they are sticking to.
It never mentions during the sales anything along the lines of "please do not view these vouchers if you intend to return any for credit.

If it was a few hundred pounds, i would be annoyed with myself and move on, but its £651 and it was every penny i had saved for this phone, because i need a large phone screen with accessibility features as i am partially sighted, and having been in the shop a few times and had an employee go thru all the features with me, it suited my needs perfectly.

Thanks for the advice and help everyone

    Tom

there is a very clear difference with apple store vouchers and iTunes vouchers
    http://www.apple.com/uk/shop/accessories/giftcards
As long as the purchase included the name iTunes in the title, you will have received exactly what you ordered so cannot see the bank doing a chargeback
Not sure whether you are just unfamiliar with iTunes or misread the description but iTunes do not sell physical products (as you now know)
  • Perkins are a big company might be worth getting in touch with the people who deal with the partner, as already mentioned (if the chargeback doesn't work) and asking them to see if they can intervene, mention your dodgy sight to them.

    Guys,
Though i would report the update on this matter.
Received a full refund Today for £651 after my Company's HR department turned up the pressure over the last week, on the company that supplied me the vouchers.

I was told that inconsistencies on the website relating to the "Terms & Conditions" regarding to the sale of the vouchers, worked in my favour.

Just happy to now have this matter resolved

    Thanks

    Tom
