    Perhaps after the ? you could put something like, "Probably not but let's have a chat about it, maybe over a cuppa or a beer or perhaps a couple of those nice custard tarts with nutmeg on them and a glass of port". I think that would resolve your desire to keep debate alive while accurate representing the situation on the western part of the Iberian peninsula.
