Our Hermes courier is fantastic and completely reliable. We order on a very regular basis from Amazon & eBay and have never been let down by Hermes. Impressed by their tracking app. too.

I must admit I'm another where I've never had any issue with their deliveries. Depending on the service the sender uses, they don't have to get a signature and can leave it in what they deem is a safe place. Whilst I was a bit miffed once at having a parcel (by another carrier) chucked over our gate...luckily it wasn't fragile, it was much more convenient than me trekking to some depot miles away to collect it.

I guess the driver left the parcel with the best intentions of thinking it was a safe place, and not knowing you'd be away for 2 days. Personally I've never known woodlice to eat a box like that, although granted I have never left one outside to see.

I'm sure a wipe with some anti bac wipes on the pots if they were sealed would have been fine. I mean, who knows what is on pots we pick up from stores, e-taillers etc...does every warehouse packer wash their hands after going to the loo?

  • Our Hermes locally are terrible - they are always saying that parcels are delivered and signed for and they haven't been. Sometimes they turn up a week later. I think they do it as they have deadlines which they cannot meet.

  • Annoying, isn't it. Our Hermes chappie is excellent so it really varies. He's cheerful and smart - remembers who has a catflap/logstore etc for leaving parcels safely. Yodel however are pants and CityLink (known as Sh*ttylink for good reason) were appalling!!!!
  • We had a Hermes delivery yesterday. As we were out the delivery driver left it 'behind the bush by the gate'. This meant he/she had to walk across a flower bed and place the parcel on bare soil. As a result the parcel was soggy and muddy, although the contents were ok.
