By publishing it, you've probably guaranteed that Sky will block it in the near future. Well done.

When people used to publish details of the geographic numbers that sat behind the published premium non-geographic numbers used by Sky, those 01 and 02 numbers would quickly be taken out of use and changed to other numbers that then took a long time to find.

That was before the Consumer Contacts Regulations 2013 came along in June 2014. The new rules require numbers starting 01, 02, 03 or 080 be used for post-sales helplines for retailers, traders and passenger transport companies.

It costs Sky money to receive incoming calls to 03 and 080 numbers and forward them on to standard landlines. As they have specifically arranged to have these numbers available, and they are required to use these types of numbers, I can't see them being withdrawn from use anytime soon.

Aren't all their number 03 now? And doesn't that come out of your monthly minutes on your mobile?

Yes, Sky uses 03 numbers for most things, but retains 0844 for upgrades. This usage appears to be a breach of Regulation 41 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, as it is a helpline for an existing customer - but Sky would probably attempt to argue that a renewal or upgrade is a "new sale".

Calls to 03 numbers are inclusive on landlines and on mobiles. If you haven't got an inclusive allowance they are charged at the same rate as whatever you pay for calls to 01 and 02 numbers. If you haven't got an inclusive allowance, you'll be wanting to call an 080 number.

If you call the general 03 number, they will put you through to the correct department.

According to their website, 0333 2000 333 is the number for upgrades.

Can't say I've ever used it though. I usually use live chat, or go through a cashback site if I'm upgrading with any provider.

I just cut and pasted that 0844 number from the Sky website contact page for 1. Sky TV - 2. Join or Upgrade.

It's also the number used in some of the Sky adverts on TV.
