Ive got a sign saying no salespeople on my front gate but i think they are more intimidated by the sign that says. 'Please shut the gate as we have dogs' Funny that. Even my neighbour taps on the front window and he knows what dogs we have (cavalier king charles spaniels who are as gentle as anything). Actually the Jeovahs Witnesses are more scared of the dogs as ive known them come up to the gate and do a U turn.

I use them to take stuff to the tip. I don't feel guilty as 95% of them are the company ones not actual charities. We only get bags for 2 charity shops in town and they get my custom every week so I don't feel too guilty :rotfl:

To be honest i dont think a charity bag would be strong or big enough for our household use. Our council has a strict '3 bag per household' rule so i buy the biggest, strongest black sacks i can get and stuff them silly.

It must be so comical to see me staggering to the footpath last thing on a Sunday evening with my bags. I'm usually bent double by the weight. Saying that... a weeks worth of dog sh!te weighs a ton.:rotfl:

  • I have always used the bags for rubbish, rather than just throw them away. I have a couple of charities that I support as I believe in thier work and try to give as much as I can and use the CS whenever I am in town. We have a Salvation Army Bin. an Air Ambulance Clothing Bin and a Book Bin all in the village so I donate to each in turn and save on fuel taking to the CSs that way. I have tried putting the unused bags out for collection on the appointed day by the charity but, so far no one has ever done this, they only take the filled ones. I don't see this as anything more than saving waste!

I always use them as bin bags. I turn them inside out before using them & when full they go into the appropriate wheelie bin.
I donate lots of my old clothes to charity but I prefer to take them to a shop or clothing collection bank myself rather than leaving them on the pavement or my garden to be collected.
We also get a lot of bags for 'fake' charities so I prefer to know where my stuff is going by taking it there myself.
