Afternoon all

Thanks for the start DNMS
So far today I have:
Been rejigging things in the house (I like to change things round / change look of rooms - daft I know, but I just like doing it
) and am doing so without spending anything
It helps that I have lots of stuff plus sales stock that I can borrow / swap for things that I am bored of! Sometimes I find extra things in my stash to sell, which is a bonus
All HM meals
Been to sales unit to tidy / change things round. Not done great this month unfortunately
Surveys, postal survey tasks, FPL
Read meters and submitted readings
Given DD2 a referral to Ovo as she is at her wits end with her energy company and wants to switch
Ovo are a local company to us, and unlike any that I have been with before, they haven't annoyed me once during the 18 months or so I have been with them :A And if DD does decide to go with them, she and I will both get a £25 Amazon voucher :T
Taken pup to vets for his monthly check / flea treatment (covered by his monthly pet club plan, which saves about 30% on flea treatment, wormers, discounts off vet treatments and grooming etc). This also includes a free check up each month with a qualified veterinary nurse
Cleaned out fridge
Done a recce of fridge and cupboards, and started a shopping list. I have put the shopping off till Sunday, as I have a voucher valid from then, and we can manage in the meantime with what we have in
Right, better get on and do a bit more, as that doesn't sound much

Hi,
I'm off Forum today. Finished work at 5:30am then had three hours sleep, went to get routine bloods taken, quick shopping trip then a couple of hours re-building OH's business facebook page.
Will check-in tomorrow if time.
Exhauted now. Drinking Baileys and eating home-cooked curry.

Hey.....done a few more money saving things:
*Caught up with surveys. Am now halfway to cash in on Ipsos & Toluna & just 10p away on Onepoll. Naturally now I'm so close I'm not getting any surveys from Onepoll. They seem to let a set quota through at a time, but I'll get a survey at some point in the next fortnight & they do always pay up fairly promptly.
*Did a small project for the online brand community I'm on at the moment. They award vouchers every month or so.
*Found a present online that might well do for F-i-L - quite tricky to buy for these days as his likes & dislikes change with the wind & something that is his absolute best thing EVER could be something in which he has zero interest the following year :-/
*Planned a nice day out with the lovely mr f tomorrow. Only petrol to get there as can get in with our NT cards & I will pack sandwiches, crisps & defrost a couple of my pear muffins for a picnic. A walk among fab autumn trees & spotting a few squirrels, birds, etc, will be food for the soul. I LOVE autumn!
*Checked my re-listed ebay item & the woman who messaged me to say she forgot to bid last week, has now done so.
*Peruse Avon book for bargains in case anything suitable for small gift for M-i-L.
Dawn - I like to change rooms around with stuff I already own too. A recent change was moving an old wooden chest which I stripped down & waxed years ago into the middle of the lounge floor to use as a coffee table. Can't believe how nice it looks & it's given the room a really different feel. I've moved a little nest of tables to under the window where the chest used to be & found a basket to stand on top of it into which I've tidied all mr f's wretched remote controls. Also, the tatty old vintage armchair up in my HQ (office & craft room) has had a new look because I've put the patchwork bedspread over it which my Mum sewed for me when I was a student in the 1980s. Funny how such small changes can give a fresh look & avoid spending on new gear!
f x2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -
Greetings
Still feeling very rough. Starting to wish I'd had the flu jab when it was offered. Have got to that stage where I am coughing so much I can't speak and my throat is so sore. But there are signs it's on the turn so I'm crossing my fingers to feel better this weekend.
I have managed a few small things.
1. Found 20p
2. Loaded 2 reciepts up to COS and Clicksmart for the 4p credit and entry to win £100 draw
3. NSD
4.Walked all journies
5. Checked banking
6. General tidy round to stay organised.
Think that's it today.
Love to all

Healing vibes for Bob x
Its not been a great week money wise. I have had to pay out for a couple of unexpected things and this late in the month there is not much room for juggling. This last week is going to be very very tight. Our poor dog is having a bad allergy flare up so I have ordered some food supplements and fingers crossed they might help or we could end up with a vets bill as well.
I have just hung the washing out. Yes it's cold and dark but its quite blowy and it might just dry a bit before it rains tomorrow morning.
We are burning a bit of free wood on the open fire. Just hope DS2 is not freezing in his bedroom! I am sure he will say if he is too cold. We have dug out the hot water bottles this week.
Foxgloves your plan for tomorrow sounds lovely. I love autumn too. I dont plan to go anywhere or spend anything this weekend.0 -
Hi

I can officially declare half term, and not having to bring any marking home with me!
I got as much as I could done at work today but everything was a bit wonky after a power cut last night so I couldn't do any printing at all. Marking is as up to date as I could actually do. I've doubled the migraine meds and am fingers crossed for a decent kip tonight.crazy_cat_lady wrote: »Morning

DNMS - Just watching 'Gardener's world' & realised I didn't answer your question about manuring my garden. No, I don't usually. I did do it the year my horsey friend brought me 16 sack loads of the stuff, but usually, as our veggie beds are cleared, we dig them over & spread a good layer of home made compost on top. The worms pull it down into the soil & it helps add nutrients as well as improving soil structure. Then, in Spring before we start planting, we usually rake in a few handfuls of the chicken manure pellets. I don't know if you have compost bins? We have 4 of the big plastic 'dalek' type bins , but it's not enough. I'd say to make as much compost as you possibly can. We've got the worm composter too, but I use that compost differently. It's wetter & very rich, so I use it to topdress around plants which need a bit of a boost. Hope this helps. I'm only an amateur gardener, so can only answer to the best of my knowledge x2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
