O/S Daily Friday 23rd October 2015
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.
Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
DH up and now going to work. DS1 now getting ready for work. DS2 still in his pit, I’ll wake him shortly to get up and ready for school.
Still dark, seems dry underfoot not sure about the temperature, will be putting some washing on the line shortly if it looks like it will dry. Put a load out yesterday and the sky turned a very dark shade of blue/grey and I thought I was going to be getting it in out of the rain, but it stayed dry but kept having very dark clouds come over but it didn’t rain at all – very weird.
Dinner last night was a naughty egg, bacon, sausage, hash browns, fried new potatoes, mushrooms, beans and toast – not very healthy but cleared up food that needed to be eaten. Tonight will be with something with chips for the menfolk, and possibly jacket potato or omelette with salad for me.
I was reasonably productive yesterday, washing, drying and ironing tackled but still some to go, I hadn’t done any washing in the early part of the week because it didn’t look like it would line dry so had a bit of a backlog but getting through it now – have 1 load ready to either go out on the line or in the TD and think there’s enough for 1 more load after that – basket will then be empty.
This morning I will be going to the SM at 8am – I’m finding this so much better as it’s quite quiet at that time so it means shopping time is decreased – the only downside is that I can’t get everything I need at MrA***e, so have to visit 2 shops if there’s anything I can’t get at MrA***e, which does happen most weeks as DH likes certain beer that MrA***e doesn’t stock but I certainly do seem to get more for my money there, and with then visiting a mainstream SM top up shops are just for milk and bread if needed but don’t generally need anything else. Did do some baking the other week and that really helps with not needing to buy bits during the wee, so will be baking this afternoon. I’m going to try to keep the shopping spend to a decent amount today – we’ll see. I do have quite a list though.
Have good Fridays everyone x
Keep safe and well x

Morning everyone.
Up early to get down to the airport by 10am. It's been a while since I've had to actually get up this early any more. Pitch black out but st least it's all quiet and still - the wind seems to have gone.
I made a huge pot of chilli yesterday, enough for two nights of guests.
Now I need to get ready and head out.
Happy Friday everyone.0 -
Morning all. Me and youngest DGD are quietly watching Dora but it'll soon be time to get the other two up and peace will be shattered.
I had a bad tossy turny night, not helped because it felt so warm. It had been a strange day. Quite cold in the strong wind and then muggy when it dropped.
DD and the girls are going over to the caravan after school for their last visit of the season. They are staying till Tuesday, then Mr TA and I are over for day visits Wednesday and Thursday to bring stuff back for the winter and get as much as we can from the awning into the caravan. It would be a doddle if we didn't share it with them and only had our own stuff to think about! The caravan is packed like a sardine can when we've finished! Then there is the awning to take down and the van to cover but DS has offered to come over and help with that (eventually!)
I have the usual Friday dust, vac and clean to do today once the girls have gone to school and I have had a bit of recovery time from the usual mayhem!
Meals today will be from the fridge as there seems to be loads of bits and pieces that needs eating up.
Have a good day all ((((((HUGS))))))) if needed. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning :hello:
redruby Scampi is a puller (I may have mentioned it once or twice! lol), he occasionally really goes for it and yanks hard, sometimes for no reason at all. After the behaviourist explained about him feeling trapped on the lead and it not allowing a natural flight or flight response when he sees a stranger, I wondered if he just felt trapped all the time. I tried an extendable lead, but there's no slack. The last few days I've been using a long rope on walks, just shortening it when we're near a main road. He's so much better, though still has his moments!
Someone parked their van outside, in front of the patio doors, and left their dog in the front seat. Scampi went nuts and started jumping at the door, shredding the net curtain  Argos sell curtains but they're too long, I can't alter them here because there's no room to lay them out flat plus I have no pins, measuring tape etc. Tragos do them but are out of stock of the length we need. Dunelm have them in stock, so we need to go to Plymouth today. It's not that far but we weren't planning on visiting there so I'm a bit miffed. Why couldn't this have happened at the beginning of the week, there's loads online, I could've ordered them and had them delivered
Not sure what else we're doing today, probably more ball games on the beach. We're meeting up with a couple of people tonight for a drink, I'm looking forward to that. Make mine a double – I need it

Morning All
Still dark but not raining yet, just at work so it doesn't really matter. No washing again, will wait till tomorrow when I can put my work stuff in from today.
Not feeling too good, I've had a funny head all week and felt really tired, my nose started to run last night and I fell asleep on the sofa so not a good nights sleep when I went to bed.
Hope the poorlies are feeling better and happy birthday for yesterday to wealthygirl's DS.
Have a good Friday. Take care. XX0 -
Morning all,
Too dark here to see what's going on weather wise feels chilly though. I have a wash to hang out as soon as it gets light and another to go in.
Still feel rough I am just sleeping for the majority of the time, I have never had such a bad headache or as long lasting as this.
The couple with noodles have a dog behaviourist coming out to see them today so fingers crossed he can help them, Tru thanks for that it possibly is that she feels trapped also she is so excited about being out, I don't think she was walked much before, hope you find your curtain
Takeaway tonight an Indian think OH's favourite ( I quite like it too)
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all, get well wishes to folks that need them.
Cold but reasonably bright on the girls walk, am hoping the rain holds off as am riding this morning and am yet to replace my waterproof over trousers, keep looking out for cheapo pair coz soon as equestrian goes in front of anything it seems to double the price:(
Will then run through the house, hoover and dust, managed the bathroom yesterday as well as clearing the ironing basket so am reasonably up to date.
DOH is off today so we hope to get to the cinema this afternoon to see the Suffragette film before the madness of half term next week, will take my large handbag so can smuggle in our bottle of water and treats :rotfl:
Right, need to get my mojo working, good day to all x0 -
Lainey - Aldi are doing horse riding gear on Special next week. You might find what you need there a good bit cheaper if you have a branch near you?"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Good morning everyone
I actually had a bit of a lie-in this morning and got up just in time to see the girls off to school. They break up today for half term and they need it as they are all tired out. Hubby managed to go to work which I'm surprised by as he was in agony yesterday with his knee. He's popping pain killers and has strapped it up but I think he would have been better off going to the doctor's rather than work.
My lovely baby sister is coming to see me in an hour or so so I need to go and get dressed. I've just had some breakfast and am currently polishing off a cup of tea. I haven't seen her for a while so we can catch up on some family news over another cuppa.
My other friend wants to come over as well later on so the kettle will be hot all day. I so prefer it generally to have visitors as otherwise it's a long day on my own and my mood drops a lot.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
TA- thank you, there is a Aldi near my DM so will pop in next week x0

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Slept in this morning, will not have to do it tomorrow, going to the quilt show at Malvern. OH is taking me. I will go to the show, he will stay with the car, either read or go for a walk.
Quite dull after a nice day yesterday I got all the towels dry on the line.
Optician happy with my eyes, we took DD2 for lunch before coming home. OH cut the front grass, hoping for another fine day so he can do the back and the new turf we had laid.
Need to do the Friday clean, so must get my backside out of bed.0
