De Beers - this is THE diamonteers in Europe. 3 Shops in London and 1 in Paris. Not cheap but if you want PERFECT diomonds then it's De Beers I'm afraid :)

Cheaper ones could be "Blood diamonds" (diamonds traded for arms in places like Sierra Leone etc)

Don't forget that price varies with cut, clarity, colour, symmetry and country of origin.

On the website it has a big sign that says that they are not blood diamonds.

Another online one to consider is www.bluenile.co.uk same idea as diamond geezer.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • isn't it a little risky to buy that online?

Not if its a trusted site, we bought our ring from an online retail shop and saved a fortune, an example being we priced a 1 ct solitaire ring in Macintyres and also bernstones/fraser hart and they came up with prices of £6000 to £6500 but the same thing can be bought from blue nile for £2579 but you have the personal touch by choosing your diamond;) and also your budget. Also if in any doubt google the name of the online vendor and see if there is anything negative.

My engagement ring came from here
    http://www.diamondideals.com/
    Check out

for more information on the retailers.
Whiteflash is another very good one.

All will ship to the UK.

otherwise if you want to see the diamond first, try Hatton Garden in London - lots of diamond shops all on the same street with jewellers there who really know their stuff.

OP, you do not mention what shape of diamond (round brilliant, princess cut etc?and what it is going to be for, i presume maybe an engagement ring??

Also are you going to buy a diamond to have it set in a ring or will you buy it aready in a setting?? If you are going to have it set, then maybe contact some local independent jewellers as they should have some contact with diamond dealers. And you would be able to see the diamonds.

You are going for a very nice diamond which i'm sure will be greatly received. But you will need to have a good quality setting for an expensive diamond.

If money is not an option then good luck with you search but if you wanted to save some them i would stick with a good colour i.e D/E and maybe go down slightly in clarity, you will still get a good fire coming from the diamond
Having worked in the trade, i chose my own diamonds Colour E VVS1 and they sparkle and look fantastic every day. I also had mine set in platinum.

Whereabouts are you, maybe able to make some recommendations.

    Good luck
  • i'm looking for a round brilliant, it is for an engagement ring. i have a jeweller who is going to set it in platinum for me in the style i want. i got a diamond a few years ago in kuwait but its not really as good as i wanted, its an 0.63 f vvs1 with a thick girdle, really nice stone but not the best and my girlfriend is worth the best! i live in canada at the moment but i do travel to the uk alot.
