See why I moan about the cost of living in the south east (especially Surrey), our all you can eat Chinese is £13.50 per head. If you leave stuff they fine you for wasting food (I think they just charge for whatever the price would be for what you wasted).
Its really nice though, the salt'n'chilli prawns are fab.

Well today we had promised DS a treat as his sisters are away camping with their grandparents. So at lunch time we said we'd take him for a meal and I suggested we go to Oriental Diner on Broad Street in Barry after reading this thread

Mr Welshy was extremely impressed with the food and choices available, there was a nice selection plus chicken and sweetcorn soup, chips and the ice-cream machine and excellent value too.

The strongbow was £2.20 a bottle but for a meal for the 3 of us plus drinks and a plastic toy ice-cream for DS it came to £21.10. On the way out I grabbed their takeaway menu and will definitely visit again,

Gload people think this is good! I forgot to mention (and as a parent, this really impressed me) there was a child in there having a bit of a tantrum - normally there would have been tutting, frowning etc from customers and staff - nope not here - one of the waiters just came up to the boy and gave him a 5p lollipop - result? A silent happy child!

What can you say? I haven't seen service like this since the days of the Four Lanterns (also in Barry, but sadly long gone now).:beer:

I thought it was considered very rude in Chiness circles to leave an empty plate. I was always brought up to leave just a bit so the 'host' knew that they had fed us enough!
