Short pickup in carpark

Hey,
I know I probably don't have any grounds to contest this but I figured I'd ask here to be sure.
A couple of weeks ago I was picking somebody up from the train station but due to the roads being crowded for some reason I was forced to pull into a private carpark.
I stayed in this carpark for 11minutes at 19:50 on a Sunday night whilst my friend arrived and then left. The details are on the letter that got sent to me.
I've now been stung with a £100 fine (£60 if paid within 14 days) which seems a bit harsh given the amount of time I was there. I've spent longer in carparks trying to find a spot.
Is this going to be worth contesting or should I just swallow the charge and learn my lesson?
Thanks in advance

I assume this was a private ppc ?
in which case read the NEWBIES sticky thread and appeal it, because the time parked was less than the grace period allowed under the CoP (assuming its a BPA member)
grounds for appeal include
no KEEPER liability
POFA 2012 errors
poor signage
no landowner contract to pursue charges
not a gpeol (subject to the Beavis court case)
camera errors and compliance (if used)
ps:- its not a fine (you made that part up)
its a pcn , a Parking Charge Notice
in essence, its a private speculative INVOICE0 -
Can I ask what the grace period is? thanks for the link to the thread0

is a good question, and if this is a BPA member is answered in their latest CoP
in essence, you had 10 minutes grace to comply with the parking rules, or leave
time entering , parking and exiting the car park is not considered to be the time actually "parked" (its actually the time spent "on site")

It is a BPA member. I was there for 11 minutes and 59 seconds0

Will I still have a case with that?0

Refer to post #2 and read the NEWBIES sticky thread as advised.0

In all likelihood you can contest it. Follow the Newbies thread as advised.0

Presumably, if the signage was clear, you would have gone somewhere else, so the signage was by definition insufficient (unless you saw it and agreed to the £100 invoice?).0

You are joking? We win every case against private parking tickets. Please read the sticky thread at the top of the forum 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THIS FIRST'. I wrote it to stop endless 'what do I do/have I got a case?' threads. Read the sticky thread advice and see when and how to appeal using the template first appeal provided. DO NOT talk about who was driving, do not tick any box or dropdown choosing 'driver'.
APPEAL AS REGISTERED KEEPER - assuming this isn't a company car or lease/hire/courtesy vehicle. They will reject.
You then win at POPLA stage. All expained and covered in the NEWBIES thread but of course, we'll help those who read it first.
I'm guessing NCP or Meteor is the dumb parking firm you are going to beat? Or CP PLUS?
Does the notice have the words 'PENALTY CHARGE' at the top, or just 'parking charge notice' (please check exactly)? Which firm?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD0 -
Hey,
It doesn't seem to be part of a larger company but it is managed by "ParkingEye" and is registered under "BPA"
I've read the sticky. Going to look into it more this afternoon and see what I can do.
