Trouble getting certified copies of documents

Try looking harder for a solicitor or notary that charges a more reasonable fee. Random example: http://www.morrisonspowart.com/deeds.html
The fee they quoted in their OP is reasonable.
Getting a document copy notarially certified is very different to having a solicitor/post office/john down the road certify a copy and costs a lot more, it's just total overkill for what the OP needs.0 -
Agreed. I think the clue is in the wording. The bank asked for certified copy, not a notarised copy. Should be fine with a local solicitor.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Any bank where you have an account will do it free of charge, no problem.
Your local HSBC almost certainly will, as you are moving to FD. RBS may, if you can avoid telling them it's so you can switch from them!0 -
I was really just wondering if other people had experienced the same issue...

Halifax will only verify and certify copies of documents that are being used for their own accounts or mortgages, anything that has been endorsed cant be handed back, and is forwarded on.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards.
