Moving from ADSL to Fibre which cashback?

Currently with Sky on ASDL Free BB Unlimited and considering moving back to TalkTalk as contract ends soon and price increases. My question is will this count as New Customer with new line or existing line for cashback purposes?

I suspect its a switch and then upgrade but would like to hear from others that have made the switch and whether cashback was successful.

I hear that ISP's will try to get out of paying cashback and my previous experience with TalkTalk is positive unless you have to speak with them, usually when things don't go smoothly.

I hope this makes sense.

    Hi Luke,

Generally a new line customer is only when you don't currently have an active service at your property.

If you have an existing service with Sky and move to us it would be classed as a transfer, not a new line, so your eligibility for offers would be based on this.

There's different offers for new line compared to existing as the setup process is slightly different for each, so offers reflect that.

If you have any other questions or queries please feel free to tweet us directly @TalkTalkCare

  • Thanks you for your prompt response. I didn't realise TT where active on this forum and wanted to hear other customers experience.

That said, I'm planning on switching on the day I left TT i.e. 10 working days before end of current contract. How do TT define a new customer i.e. within last twelve months or should I wait a few days to meet this criteria?

I must say I preferred the TT connection, although uplink (and ping) was slower I think the network side was more reliable with less downtime and suspect this will not be an issue with Fibre.

  • Many reports in press about this, so maybe not then, TT said 'offering a year's free credit monitoring' should this happen anyway or do they want access to your bank account as well!

  • Do you know when they expect the TT website to be up and running again? I see some offers but not what I'm after and the phone number to ring but I suspect this will affect cashback offers. I really need to switch today but willing to wait a day or two.

  • Spoke on phone to TT but they wouldn't give me online deals over the phone. Manager said full website would be back up on 5/11/2015 and that the 5GBP fibre deal also ends on that day.

Terrible service as always, think I will stay away from now on.
