Koh Samui via Amsterdam & KL - airport terminal transfer query

We have a family wedding on Koh Samui in mid-January and are flying out from Manchester with KLM via Amsterdam and then Malaysian Airlines to KL.

Cannot find out on Schipol website whether we'll have to reclaim luggage, change terminals and re-check in for KL flight.

And same again in KL.

Grateful for any advice.

If it is all on a single booking reference, no.

All on a single booking reference through Travel Trolley although it involves 3 different airlines.

In addition, you might be able to check in all the way through to Samui, dependent on the connection times. Samui is an International airport.

PG 954 leaves KUL at 17.45, so if you arrive at 15.50 and are connecting the same day..

Why did you do it that way around? Are you doing a stopover in KUL? I imagine that it would have been cheaper to fly to BKK, perhaps with Turkish Airlines and then internally to USM.

We looked at many, many options and this deal was the best price and time wise - although transfer in KL maybe a bit tight.

No....if you are checked in all the way to USM at the times indicated it will be fine. Of course if your flight times are different, YMMV.

What are the flight numbers? Let me take a look. I don't need to see the exact dates. Though the month might be helpful.

What I'd check is that when you arrive in KL the samui flight is leaving from KLIA. If it's firefly airlines ( subsidiary of Malaysian) the last time we travelled this route it was from Subang airport.

I was in the same situation as you. Flying to samui for a family wedding in July 2013. Obviously dates were restricted and we fly from Glasgow. The cheapest option for us was BA to London then Thai to BKK then on to Krabi for a few days before Samui( free domestic flight with Thai to anywhere but Samui!)

The booking agent at netflights told me we'd be right through with luggage but I phoned BA to confirm and they told me I'd need to collect bags and check in again with Thai. Even though the booking agent assured me it was one booking or PNR BA assured me this was not the case. I had to pay more and fly a bit earlier to London as I couldn't take the risk of being late for the long haul.

I don't mean to worry you but do double check. I think you will be ok as I'm sure KLM & Malaysian do code share but for your own peace of mind and knowing everything is in hand.

Thank you, Leanne - will check that out with the airlines.

No flight numbers? Are you happy enough to depend on your own experience? If you post the flight numbers we can give accurate advice...instead of having to guess.
