Travel Insurance - dates to cover?

I have annual insurance and take 2-3 holidays per year. The renewal date for this insurance is in January . My next hols are
Nov 2015
March
June
August
So when are you saying I am not covered for cancellation ?
Read the T&C, but assuming they are like mine ("... as soon as you book a journey, the cancellation element of this insurance contract becomes active"...), and assuming you are currently insured sine Jan 2015, and renew in Jan'16, cover will be continuous.
Slightly off topic, annual insurance (typically £40 p.a in Europe and North Africa for a family) seems a no brainer, so whey does anyone do 'owt else? But when you turn 65, it goes through the roof, so Nationwide's (or presumably other Banks') cover on something like Flexplus suddenly seems a bargain- £10pm fee/£120 pa but that's wrapped up with European car recovery, 3% interest on £2.5k balances (so up to £75) and other stuff, so great value.

Thanks
but
I was asking Voyager2002 as his interpretation seems a little odd.
The (free-just deposit £750 per month) Nationwide Flex account cover is up to age 75 and is free for Europe and for and additional £20pp its Worldwide.

My interpretation is entirely consistent with the answer given above. I would just highlight to someone in your situation that should you fail to renew in January, or renew with a different company, or renew leaving a gap between the end of your current contract and the start of the next one, the handling of any claim could be complicated. Yes: you understand this but many people do not.0
