The information given by the original poster is not correct because he does not make it clear that it only works where the user has switched to the 03 numbering range.

MANY users of 084/087 numbers have not taken up the option to switch to the appropriate 03 numbering range. You still need to call them on the 084/087 number unless you can find an alternative.

EG: Heathrow Airport http://www.heathrow.com/ use a rip off 0844 number which want work if you relace 8 with 3.

Not only that they dont mention any service charge, and they now have had nearly 4 months to do so.So much for Ofcom.

There should be almost no usage of 084 and 087 numbers these days.

Notify ASA about the failure to declare the Service Charge.

Notify the Citizen's Advice national Consumer Helpline about the continued use of 084 numbers. They act as agents collating reports for Trading Standards.
