gas used now compared to last year

Well I'm currently refusing (which is getting harder by the day) to put the heating on until November, which is when it went on last year.
But I personally think it is colder than it was this time last year, so if I wasn't being stubborn I'd have though I'd be using more.
Oh why !
Why do you make yourself endure the cold by keeping your heating off?.
I look at it this way , it costs a lot less than one pint of beer a day £3,30 to run the heating for a complete day;).
So if you smoke as well ! how long would a pack of fags run the heating for?.
I could understand it if you are very short of money!, do you live on your own?0 -

A good post - get the costs into perspective and compare it with some of the other stuff that you buy.
As said, beer, fags, sweets, crisps, mobile phones and even fuel for the car for unnecessary journeys all probably cost more than a days heating or could contribute a lot towards it by cutting back on them.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Because I can cope by dressing warmly and being sensible. I don't smoke and you can divide the cost down any way you want but it's still £100 a month.
If I can keep the heating off for a little bit longer and save myself some money and reduce my environmental impact at a minor discomfort to myself, why wouldn't I?0
