Replacement boiler and move into loft

An excellent post regarding loftspace and one reason I say it is unwise. I have seen boilers screwed to trussed rafters - the timbers were not designed for this. The boarding should take a man or womans weight - that for sale in DIY sheds fails to meet this criteria. The walkway must be constructed to be compatible with the insulation and membranes - few are. The trap hatch opening will frequently measure less than 550 mm - this relates to trussed rafter centres but is inadequate for safe access. Then there is suitable height.... I will stop here.
I will add, but not detail, defective felt, condensation, dirt, dust, wasps, birds, squirrels, mice, rats, flue construction and weatherproofing. Enough said!0
