  • Lyn, the doctor has put on Himself's notes "white coat syndrome" because you can be sure his BP goes up the moment he walks into the surgery. Like you he takes regular readings for the GP to see so he has a fair idea of what it normally is. For goodness sake he takes enough tablets to regulate it :)

  • Afternoon all. (((HUGS))))) to all the poorlies. I have just sat down for the first time since I got up! Surgery first to request Mr TA's script, then Sainsbobs, Iceland and Aldi. All shopping eventually put away and threw a bit of lunch together for Mr TA. I had a sandwich and bag of crisps on the hoof whilst making a giant lasagne. There are 7 of us for tea, including DD's bf. (Though DD is veggie and on a diet so bringing her own!!)

I have had loads of texts to reply to in and amongst from all and sundry wanting to know how yesterday went. I am absolutely stressed out! I still have Mr TA's injection appointment in Leeds to change to the week after his therapy starts but will do that tomorrow.

The overnight rain had stopped by dawn and we are left with wind and cloud but I can't believe how warm it is. Thermometer outside shows 19 deg!!! No wonder I am dashing around in a hot sweat!

Still the DGDs beds to make up after their last sleepover so that's my next job before they start arriving in stages from 5.00 p.m. Enjoy the rest of the day if you can and take care xx ps Mrs LW I too suffer "White Coat Syndrome" and can feel my BP escalating whenever I see a dr/nurse approaching with a sphyg!

Oh and on top of that, when my 3 monthly medication was delivered this afternoon (with the antibiotics) there was a note pinned to the bag asking me to go down and ask for a blood test/blood pressure form to be issued. :rotfl:

Well it will have to wait.

    Evening All

Elona I know it sounds daft but we neutralised my M&D bungalow when we had to sell it, had it painted magnolia throughout, even on top of wallpaper, and had beige carpets, and wood effect vinyl in bathroom and kitchen, and it went a dream. Seems most folk have no imagination. Hope you sell soon.

Tru Just notice what folk are wearing/doing when Scampi kicks off. Skye goes manic over hats, and umbrellas, and dare I say it, people with darker coloured skin!! No logical reason why either.

Judi Glad you got some AB's, serves hubby right.

BB Sorry to hear you are in pain, nothing worse. The climate out here is best for that, but even I'm aching in every joint, especially from the waist down since coming off my anti-inflammatories, try not to take PK either, don't think I'll manage that back home.

We had rain out here last evening/night, not that heavy, but the sun has struggled a bit today, and only been around 20C today, no heating on inside but I do have a cardi on but with crops and t-shirt.
I don't know why but have come out with an allergy on the left side of my face, eye, forehead, and neck/chest. Just using Hydrocortisone Cream, as already take Fexofenadine daily anyway. My stupid skin.

(((hugs))), spoons and positive vibes all round, take care everyone. DG

I have been laid up for the last four days, arthritis has really flared up badly, I don't usually cry with the pain but I have done a couple of times.
I went in the garden yesterday to get some runner beans and came a cropper because my knees just gave way  luckily DH was home and carried me in the house. Doped up to the eyeballs with pain killers today and DH has told me I am not to do a thing, which is frustrating, but tbh I don't think I can, even if I wanted to :(
Gentle (((HUGS))) BB. I feel your pain. Literally. I've been hitting the Oramorph bottle rather more than I like just lately. I put it down to the wet weather, at least in part.
My new doctor is very nice, a sensible girlie too!!! Not met her before and my GP daughter had said to take my blood pressure twice a day for a couple of weeks at varying times and after doing varied levels of activity and then to work out the mean average from the figures I'd recorded, so that's just what I did. I said to the Doc she could take my blood pressure if she really wanted to but the figures she got might not be good for hers and she just laughed!!! Said a lot of people give a high reading as no one likes going to the surgery and to put my coat back on as I was obviously not having any problems and she was very happy to file my figures, bye,bye see you next year Mrs.L, bless her we had a puppy talk as she's got a manic 14 month old springer pup, Oh my, hard work isn't even scratching the surface with springers at that age, I wished her luck and left!!!
Aww, bless you; I'm the same, I'm a gibbering wreck if I have to see medical bods. I cope reasonably well with my current male :eek::eek::eek::eek: rheumatology consultant because he has two black labradors, so we tend to end up talking dogs. Mr LW still has to come in with me, though.

That's a very good point; it could be something he associates with bad things that happened to him before he was Rescued; if you can find out whatit is that's making him kick off, you can start getting him to associate whatever it is with good things happening.:o

I've often had dogs who enjoy being groomed, but last night was the first time I've ever had a dog actually ask me to brush them.
Patch kept looking up at my desk, then across at me; she did this for several minutes, til I realised the only thing that was to do with her on there was her grooming kit, so I got her Furminator and gave her 10 minutes with that, and she was content after that.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
