You might have a frost stat (which is what will kick in if the temperature drops too low) but it is unlikely to have been that low, it is usually set about -2 deg C (that's minus 2)0

^^^ Good point but that is a delay rather than an advancement which is what the OP mentioned. Do you think the Optimum setting will detect a colder than usual temperature and start earlier? If so that is the answer. Can it be turned off? Instructions are not clear on that.0

It's a learning programmer/stat so will detect how long it takes the room to heat up from the previous day & will bring the heating on earlier, it will take around a week to settle down but it continues to learnI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
