Boiler Digistat Optimiser - Programming issue - Help!

Hi all,
Really hoping someone can help. I am at my wit's end!
I have an issue with this thermostat: http://www.stevenhale.co.uk/files/dt10rf.jpg
Started putting the heating on last week and I want to set the programme to come on before I get up in the morning.
I downloaded the manual for my digistat (http://www.gotogasdocs.co.uk/f/m/Worcester/Other%20Equipment%20&%20Information/7-day-digistat-instructions.pdf) and have spent every evening trying to set it to come on in the morning, but each morning it hasn't come on. (The heating is working when I use the digistat manually)
On page 4 of this manual, I carry out step 6, but the digistat goes straight to step 8, I do not see any screen with 1-5 on it.
All of the programmes have times against them too, I even set them all to 06:30, but the heating doesn't come on.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks in advance.

When does it go to step 8? After you have pressed the Set? button? It says press Set? button until you see a display with 3 sunshine symbols, one crescent moon and Set? Do you see that? If you then press Yes(-) what happens?0

Hello, thanks for replying.
Yes, I carry out step 6, all of those icons come up, so I press Yes (-) and it just displays the screen as per step 8. :mad:0 -
Sorry, have been scratching head but only came up with splinters! Maybe someone will be along who has one of these and experienced the same problem. Did you carry out the pairing exercise that was instructed on page 2? I am now just wondering if the batteries need replacing. This can sometimes cause problems. I attended a problem last week with a mains powered digital programmer/thermostat that wouldn't work and when I took it off the wall, the batteries fell out as the spring clips had weakened. A little tweaking and replacing of batteries and all was well again. Worth a shot.0

Are you setting the temp as well as the times ?
If you set it to 06-30 but leave the temp to whatever it was set to over night then it won't come on, it doesn't switch on & off like a old time clock, you set it to tell it what temp you want at what times of the day, ie 06-30 21d, 08-30 12d etc etc etcI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
^^^ Looking at the manual that was in the link, it seems you have to get past step 6 to step 7 and the OP is saying it goes straight to step 8 from step 6.0

Hi both,
Thanks for the replies.
I was setting the temps as well as the the times. When it didn't work the first time, I ended up setting all the programmes to 06:30. Which didn't work.
Last night I rang Worcester technical helpdesk and we started it all from scratch.
Apparently, having all the programmes set to the same time cancels each other programme out!
So anyway, set it as per manufacturers recommendations, advised to wait until the morning to see if it comes on at 06:30.
Good news, the heating came on this morning!
Bad news, it came on 40 minutes earlier than the time specified in the programme!?!?!? Which isn't great as I got too hot and woke up.
I'm still baffled.0 -

I agree with your smiley, well Grrr I suppose. If the programmer is set to come on at 06.30 and it came on at 05.50, I can only suppose that there is another daytime programme that is set for 05.50. When you look at the manual aren't there three daytime and one night time programmes?
Yep, but they are all set for throughout the day. I thought maybe the temp dropped too low and it triggered the heating to kick in, unlikely though. See what happens tonight I guess!:wall:0
