sell house for a pound

Hi I don't know if this is the right place to ask this so apoligise up front.
I have a house with a mortgage, My girlfriend moved in with me 4 years ago and now she has left she is taken me to court to claim have the house.
I'm pretty sure she hasn't got a case but I had this happen quite a few years ago and I lost everything. So this time I want to make sure I don't lose out this time as I don't have any faith in the british justice system.
My question is can I sell my house to my parents for a £1 or £10.
If so wants involved, how do I go obout this.
Do I have to inform the mortgage company or can I transfer the mortgage to my parents.
Please someone help me on this matter as time is of the essence.
I know you are all going to write back and say the courts will rule in my favour but they didn't last time and I thought I had a cast iron case.
Please sensable answer.
Paul
Hi there
I haven't read through all the responses so don't know if this advice is duplicated. As your girlfriend lived at the house but was not on the deeds or mortgage, she can actually apply to have her interest against the house registered which means you cannot sell the house without her consultation first. This will cost her money to do this, about £200.
I had to do this when my ex husband deceided he was going to have an affair and divorce me. Unfortunately I am a soft touch and never pushed to have my name on the deeds or on the mortgage. I had to get my interest registered and at the end of the day after a 5 year marriage, house prices rising and me helping to make changes to the house I walked away with... £5k ... on a house worth £95k. So all this rubbish about ex's getting half is just that, rubbish.
The only way an ex can get half the house is if 1) you bought the house together and have contributed both equally and 2) if its a long marriage (as apparently length of time together counts) and children are involved.
Good luck.0
