will you buy a car with reconditioned engine?

It would put me right off buying one.
How do you know it's a real reconditioned engine that's been thoroughly checked and rebuilt, compared to one out a scrappies that's been cleaned and painted?
Then you wonder why the original engine failed. Thrashing it? Poor servicing? Poor design?All your base are belong to us.0 -
It has a two year warranty (or 24k miles whichever comes first). When I inspected the bonnet, I saw a clean rebuilt engine. There were also parts replaced listed on the invoice (clutch, water pump and belts). I was tempted to buy it but I guess I will stay clear. Thank you for the advice.0

Depends on the car too, but you might get a nice ish engine with plenty of life left in it if it was done right (and with not a lot of miles in the first place) but remember that the rest of the car (suspension/interior) still has 150K miles on it and could also go wrong.0

You'll probably get more history from it than a lot of used cars.0
