Virgin Media and CISAS

Hi
After few months (3) of complaining because my broadband is 5Mbps instead of the 152 I am paying for (due to an issue in my area) I decided to take them to the CISAS.
The issue was meant to be fixed in September but then just 1 week ago when I called because nothing changed they told me that the date was pushed back to end of January.
What they offered me is to be released from my contract and join another provider, or get the refund for the last 3 months and pay £20 a month instead of £43 till January.
Does this sound ok? Is my first complaint with CISAS and I they just wanted to make me sign a letter where I tell CISAS that everything is sorted.
Can I still ask for compensation or this is what Virgin Media usually do? Anyone with more experience on this?
Many Thanks
John

Compensation is normally a refund .
You would have to show consequential loss to get compensation .0 -
