"They said MP has no power to get involved with the council." Who said this? The council? Your landlord? Your MP?

Why are the council discussing your LHA claim with your landlord?

Unfortunately for you, your landlord doesn't need a reason to go to court for an eviction notice with that Section 21 regardless of whether or not you clear your arrears by 23rd November.

I would start escalating this within the council and take a copy of your Section 21 to the housing officer showing that if the council don't !!!! or get off the pot you will be evicted.

    .

The OP gave permission so that the landlord could confirm for themselves instead of relying on a non-paying tenant.

It appears the council (as usual) are not knowing what they are doing, so giving incorrect information out.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.

true originally I was told they were waiting for proof I wasnt claiming elsewhere i.e signature from alleged claim (since they think I am claiming at a different council) saying not to worry thats all they need, then they said its taking longer than they thought so whilst waiting I could start a new claim and hand in most recent bank statement, then said they cant open a new claim till old one is sorted, then said they wanted most recent utility bill and another bank statement, then saying neither are acceptable as not detailed enough.

All the while telling LL each time I havent handed anything in or not handed in enough, tried explaining it to the LL to get the respose "why would they lie?" Well why would I intentionally not give in information which would restart my claim and stop me getting stressed!
